help the families affected by the fires

As a member of the Texas 4-H Clothing and Textiles Advisory Board, I ask that all our 4-H members participate in this project. Below is what our board’s president has come up with:

As many of you may know, there has been many fires in the Bastrop area, and over 1,400 homes have been destroyed. These families have lost everything. In a effort to help them restore the bare necessities we, the Clothing and Textiles Advisory Board, are taking this opportunity to coordinate and sponsor a new sock and underwear drive for these families. This is a great community service opportunity for us as a board and to each of us individually.

Collection sites will be at the County Extension Offices across the state. The Guadalupe County Office has volunteered to be the final collection site.  There are two fliers attached. One for you to post in your county (it has a place for you to add your local extension office information).  The second gives information about how to get  the donations to Guadalupe county and by when.

Your support to make this a successful drive is critical! Please post fliers, coordinate efforts in your area, and spread the word!!

Thanks so much!
