It’s that time of year again….time for Texas 4-H One Day (http://texas4-h.tamu.edu/oneday/)! This is a very busy day for us so we will NOT have practice on Oct 8. Instead, our club will be involved with the Texas Reds Festival Grape Stomp and the Baskins Annual 4-H Day.

We are doing the Grape Stomp along with other 4-H Clubs in Brazos County. Last year, our club volunteered even though we had a car wash on the same day! The were both a lot of fun. During breaks, we had some of our kids compete in the grape stomp and they did great! More info about the festival can be found at http://tr.blog.bryantx.gov/.
Baskins 4-H Day
Baskins has asked us to help with their annual 4-H Day. Last year we had some games and music (courtesy of the Ackermans)! This year, we could have a game or two and sell tickets for our All American Raffle. We can do anything that helps promote our club and Baskins, so let us know any ideas. We will also try to encourage people to donate $1 for the animal victims of the wild fires which is for Brazos County One Day service project this year.
Brazos County’s motto for their One Day community service project this year is “One Day, One Dollar, One Life, 4-H”. As mentioned above, our goal is to encourage people to donate $1 for the animal victims of the wild fires to buy supplies.
For both of these events, we will need volunteers. Unfortunately, there is some overlap in regards to time and shifts. If you can work one of these events/shifts, please contact our Club President, Melanie, or one of the club managers or leave a comment.
