We used Gensius bows to teach the youth ages 6+ the basics of our sport and promoted our club as well. It was a great week and the youth really enjoyed shooting.

June 11-15, 2012-Melanie Sera and Paul Hinton participated in the 2012 Texas 4-H Roundup which was held in Lubbock, TX at Texas Tech University after qualifying at district contests.

Melanie participated in the Fashion Story Board contest in the Pet Clothing division and received 8th place out of ten. She enter the Fashion Show in the Formal Construction Division with a dress made partly out of 4-H ribbons and Queen contest sashes. She was awarded 1st place out of eight. She entered the Educational Presentation contest in the Clothing and Textiles division with a presentations on “How to Make Hair Bows and Flowers.” She received 4th place out of nine. Melanie also entered the photography contest and received two blues and one red ribbon for her photos. Paul Hinton entered in the Share the Fun Cheorgraphed Routines division with Jordan Fisher with a ballroom dance piece. They received 7th place out of ten.

The week was super fun and 4-H’ers from around the state enjoyed workshops, evening award ceremonies, entertainment, hanging out with old and new friends, and, of course, evening dances. This years Texas 4-H Roundup was concluded by an Aaron Watson concert and dance which blew our socks off! The whole week was an absolute blast and we hope that you can participate next year when it is moved back to Texas A and M University.

July 21-22, 2012-Level 3 coaches Max Sera and Kevin Albers taught a level 2 coaches certification course at Powersports Gym., Inc. After the two day course, Pablo Herrera, Henry Judah, Harry Billings, Victoria and Luke Castro, and Jeff and Paul Hinton became certified level 2 coaches. Congratulations and thank you all!
