BCAC hosting LSBA 3D shoot

For those that would like some outdoor practice on 3D targets!

Brazos County Archery Club is hosting an LSBA shoot on May 31 – June 1 (you can shoot Saturday and/or Sunday). BCAC is in Bryan and follows ASA rules, scoring and classes, we do have a women’s traditional class. You can shoot either day, registration is from 8 – 9:30 and the shotgun start is at 10. Lunch will be available from our famously delicious Taco Truck – authentic mexican food. It is really good.

A portion of the proceeds supports LSBA. Entry fees will be $15 for adults, $10 for youth, and kids shoot for free. I’ll have to verify the age bracket for the free shoot, but they will have to shoot with a registered adult otherwise it is $5. LSBA will provide awards for this shoot. Come on out and enjoy and awesome day in the woods!

Brad Timmerman and several other members went out to the range yesterday to clear lanes and it looks like it will be a fun course. I would suggest you bring bug spray and rubber boots. We have tried to place targets where there isn’t any standing water or mud puddles but due to recent rains it will be damp.

If you have never shot ASA or 3D before, don’t be discouraged. We will pair you with one of our very friendly and experienced members to help you. It is very similar to field and is A LOT of fun!!! It will be 30 targets, one arrow per target, plus a mulligan if you so desire. There will also be a fun shoot (long distance shot) afterwards for a prize. Proceeds for the Mulligan and the Fun shoot will go towards helping the local NASP program. We have 14 different shooting classes to pair you up with shooters of similar age and ability.

I hope to see you all there. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about rules or otherwise.

BCAC President
